How to Verify a Company (CIN) in India
Confirm a company is real and active, and pull its master data and directors, from just its CIN.
The CIN (Corporate Identification Number) is the 21-character identifier every company registered with India's Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) carries. Verifying it confirms the company legally exists, is active, and tells you who runs it — essential before onboarding a corporate customer, vendor or borrower.
What a CIN check returns
- Registered company name and status (active, struck off, under liquidation).
- Date of incorporation and company class/category.
- Registered office state (ROC jurisdiction).
- Director details associated with the company.

}CIN, GSTIN and DIN — how they connect
A company has one CIN, usually one or more GSTINs (state-wise), and its directors each hold a DIN. For complete corporate due diligence, teams often combine a CIN check (the entity), GST verification (tax registration) and DIN verification (the people behind it).
